Black Maternal Health Walk
Walk with us to kick off Black Maternal Health Week (April 11-17)! This will be an easy path to walk, and a great time for our families to gather!

Community Baby Showers
In collaboration with Lucinda’s House, Golden Radiance Village will host a table at the New Haven Community Baby shower. We will supply families with education, baby supplies and gifts at the Dixwell Q-House Gymnasium. Secure a chance to win a prize by joining our Melanated Mama support group!

Maternal Health Hub
The Health Hub is our project centered on connecting melanated people to care providers who hear, see, and honor them. We have intentional interviews with care providers to check their biases, advocacy ability, and sense of community responsibility when caring for melanated women and their families. The Maternal Health Hub is a space full of melanated people and allies who want the best for melanated mamas and will do their part in making sure they are no longer losing their lives amid childbearing/postpartum seasons.

Matriarchal Blessingway
Annual Black Maternal Health Walk
Golden Radiance Village invites the community to our 3rd Annual Black Maternal Health Walk, a joyful, family-friendly event centered on perinatal wellness and community care.
Taking place on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University, we will gather at 10 AM, and get in motion by 11AM for a short stroller-friendly walk. We will close with line dancing and there will be activities for the babies and children as well so please make sure to bring them along to get in motion for their mamas!
Together we’ll honor, uplift, and advocate for perinatal health through the spirit of Justice Through Joy
Project Matriarchial Blessingway is our new tradition to support melanated mamas in releasing intergenerational trauma and learning holistic tools/techniques to pour into themselves. This project exists to honor all the matriarchs of the family as they release generational stress and learn about wellness modalities such as somatic healing, energy healing, and bodywork. The Matriarchal Blessingway was curated to provide melanated mamas with a somatic healing experience composed of sound healing, reiki, massage, reflexology, facials, and traditional herbal foot baths. We close with intentional body-mind healing conversations.

We are back with another collaboration with New Birth Journey and Lucinda’s House to host our 4th annual New Haven Community Baby Shower, happening at the Dixwell Q House October 2025!
